$20 Range Fee

This is an approximately a 6 hour course…4 hour lecture and 2 hour shooting qualification. Shooting time frame may vary depending on number of students.. Please schedule accordingly.

Please Note:

*       No audio or video recording is allowed

*       Be ON TIME for the class - This includes the break periods

*       Be alert and give your attention to the instructor - (not on laptops, cell phone, or personal conversations)

*       Turn cell phone to 'vibrate' or 'off'

*       If you need to take an urgent call, please do so during breaks

*       Smoking is allowed only in designated areas (this includes electric)


Additional Information/Requirements LTC Class This class, will not teach the student how to shoot a firearm. The defensive pistol portion running congruently with the LTC class WILL teach you how to shoot a firearm. Student must provide the following equipment:

➢ A semi-automatic or non semi-automatic handgun;

o Must be at least .32 caliber

o Must be in good working condition

o Handguns are subject to inspection by the department's instructors prior to training and at any time during the training course

o No optical sights allowed (example: scopes, laser, or holographic)

o No handgun may have any modification which compromises the safety of the weapon

o Revolver must not have “push off” on single action

➢ Ammunition

o Reloaded ammunition is not allowed

o Must meet SAAMI specifications (see approved list below)

o Must have a minimum of 50 rounds for the qualification (Extra is recommended)

➢ Protective clothing

o Ear protection (over-the-ear, muff style); eye protection (prescription eyewear is acceptable)

o Shirt with a collar; head cover (hat that covers head and area of face such as a baseball cap)

o Closed-toe footwear, such as boots or athletic shoes; Long pants (no shorts or Capri style pants)

➢ Additional item for proficiency demonstration

o One hand towel on which to lay your handguns and ammunition during qualification


➢ A written examination and proficiency demonstration will be administered to each student. Students must score a minimum of 70% on the written examination and 70% on the proficiency demonstration in order to pass this course. (Holsters will not be used, handguns must be stored in a closed carrying case/bag, no time will be allotted for practice or to zero the handguns during the class)

➢ Students must abide by all range safety rules. Failure to comply with safety rules will result in immediate removal from the range, and result in course failure.

➢ No family members, guests or pets will be allowed in the classroom or at the range.

Texas License To Carry a Handgun License Proficiency Demonstration Course of Fire

The following course of fire is required for proficiency demonstration. To successfully qualify, shooters must complete this course with a minimum score of 70% (175 out of possible 250). For the LTC, the minimum score is 70% (175 out of possible 250). If any malfunctions are encountered, the shooter will work through the problem and finish the course of fire. If rounds are held (not fired within the allotted time), the shots will be scored as misses. All courses of fire will be scored on a standard B-27 target. The B-27 target must be 24 inches by 45 inches and may be one of four colors; black, blue, red, or green. The target shall be scored utilizing the 5, 4, 3 scoring diagram in the upper left hand corner.

Stage 1: Twenty shots (20) will be fired from 3 yards.

A. Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 2 seconds allowed for each shot. B. Ten shots (10) fired in a “Two Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each two shot sequence. C. Five (5) shots fired in 10 seconds

Stage 2: Twenty shots (20) will be fired from 7 yards – fired 5 stages.

A. Five (5) shots will be fired in 10 seconds B. Five (5) shots will be fired in 2 stages:

1. Two (2) shots will be fired in 4 seconds 2. Three (3) shots will be fired in 6 seconds C. Five (5) shots fired in a “One Shot Exercise” 3 seconds allowed for each shot. D. Five (5) shots fired in 15 seconds.

Stage 3: Ten shots (10) fired from 15 yards – fired in two 5-shot strings.

A. Five (5) shots fired in two stages:

1. Two (2) shots fired in 6 seconds. 2. Three (3) shots fired in 9 seconds. B. Five (5) shots fired in 15 seconds.

Urban Carry!!

For Both Men & Women Who Conceal Or Open Carry! This course introduces you to the theories and concepts of concealed and open carrying in an urban environment, along with the skills necessary to properly handle a pistol or revolver. in any situation The class will progress from the very basics to rapid fire/combat shooting and multi-target drills with various sized targets. This class is for everyone, whether you are a novice to the gun world or have experience shooting/carrying. These classes will also help you improve your accuracy and confidence to shoot well in a pressure situation. Our program is also great for the shooter who hasn’t been practicing on a regular basis. Lastly, these classes give the shooter a chance to practice real world shooting techniques, and situations which are not allowed at most civilian ranges. These courses place the most emphasis on improving the shooter's ability to make decisions under stress and to make rapid multiple shots on both single and multiple targets at varying distances. This class is literally for everyone on every level! What to Bring: These Items are required: 200 rounds Minimum! Hearing & Eye protection (we can provide it if you don’t have it), Hip or tactical holster for the Tactical Handgun class, Clothing suitable for the weather, Ball cap, Sunscreen, Bottled water (lots of water!!!!!!!), Hand towel, sack lunch. And the willingness to learn new techniques and an open mind. If it's raining, we are still training! Call for group classes and other tactical offerings (Women's classes)
