The Level II Training Course and Test is REQUIRED for Non-Commissioned Security Officers, Commissioned Security Officers, and certain other applicants.
Effective November 11, 2011 the Level II class is Required to be 6 hours.
The Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Certification Is A Prerequisite. The Level III Commissioned Security Officer Training Class (Level III) is a 40 Hour Class.
Our Level III training program is designed to not only minimize the liability of both the officer and the company, but to also give the officer the tactical tools in order to win in an armed conflict. This mandated 40 hour course provides the Level III training and certification required by the State of TxDPS – Private Security Board, which includes both classroom and firearms range qualification. This certification is required to qualify as an Armed Security Officer in the state of Texas. The officer is trained in advanced security techniques and basic firearms topics and laws related to their responsibilities as a Commissioned Security Officer.

· Per the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Board requirements, the student is required to pass a written exam and pass a range qualification with a handgun during the class in order to pass the course.
· You may bring and use your own handgun* for the course, 50 rounds of ammunition and hearing protection for use during range qualification. Each range visit with cost $20. If you do not have a handgun, a handgun may be rented for the course (ammo included).
· * The handgun must be either a .38 caliber revolver (or larger caliber) or a 9 mm semiautomatic (or larger caliber). If you qualify with a revolver, you will receive a revolver endorsement (R) on your license and you will only be able to carry a revolver only while on duty. If you qualify with a semiautomatic, you will receive the semiautomatic (SA) endorsement and will be able to carry either a semiautomatic handgun or a revolver while on duty.
· Qualifying with a shotgun** is optional but not required. This is a separate endorsement on your armed license (STG), and you will not be able to have access to, carry or use a shotgun while on duty without this endorsement.
· ** The Shotgun must be a 12 Gauge. You may bring and use your own shotgun and 10 shotgun shells (12 gauge – 00 Buck). If you do not have your own shotgun, a shotgun may be rented for the course (Shotgun ammunition is an additional charge).
The Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau requires six (6) hours of Continuing Education (CE) training and firearms re-qualification every two (2) years to renew the Commissioned and PPO Security Officer License. This course provides the Level III re-qualification training and certification as required by the State of Texas to renew your Commissioned License. It includes both classroom and firearms range qualification.
Note: Licensed Qualified Mangers (QM) may take the course to fulfill six (6) hours of continuing education credits toward Maintaining their Manager’s License.

The Personal Protection Officer Endorsement Class (Level IV) is a 15 Hour (2 Day) Class. The first day of the PPO class is 9 hours. The second day of the PPO class is 6 hours.

Additionally, you will be required to take the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) before sending your application to the Texas Private Security Bureau. Additional information on the MMPI will be given during the course.
Executive Protection
This course refreshes the Fundamentals of firearms safety, along with the skills necessary to properly handle a pistol and/or carbine during any security detail. The class will progress from the very basics to rapid fire/combat shooting and multi-target drills with various sized targets. These classes will also help you improve your accuracy and confidence to shoot well in a pressure situation. Our program is also great for the shooter who hasn’t been practicing on a regular basis. Lastly, these classes give the shooter a chance to practice real world shooting techniques, and situations which are not allowed at most civilian ranges. These courses place the most emphasis on improving the shooter's ability to make decisions under stress and to make rapid multiple shots on both single and multiple targets at varying distances. This class is literally for everyone on every level!
Subjects covered include: how to protect the principle when alone or as a team, threat avoidance techniques, and how to plan and scout escape routes. Some defensive tactics are taught as well as transportation tips, and the value and importance of proper planning and preplanning.

This comprehensive TCOLE Patrol/Security AR-Pistol/SBR Course expands the theories and concepts of the AR15 platform rifle. During this course, students will learn many drills and tactics specifically for this platform and barrel length.
Although, many of the drills and tactics of this course are practiced by LE, SO, and Contractors, the exposure to the deployment and application for personal defense (Home, Vehicle, etc.) will be the primary focus of this course.
